We need your help! As a school, we are wanting to run a ‘Hanging Basket Competition’ where each class is in charge of their own hanging basket: They decide on the amount of compost, the seeds, bulbs, plants, herbs or decoration they want. The baskets will be judged (by an impartial adjudicator!) on Friday 22nd May and then we will then use these to decorate the outside of school. We still need the following in order to make our hanging baskets as  attractive as possible:

Compost (lots of it!)
Decorations (e.g. ribbon etc)

If you feel you can donate anything, please bring these donations in – even the smallest of donations will help! Please could all donations be in by
Tuesday 19
th May as we will be creating our masterpieces on Thursday 21st May.

Comic Relief-Red Nose Day 2015

Sarah Short - Tuesday, March 10, 2015

Comic Relief is a major charity based in the UK, with a vision of a just world, free from poverty. They work tirelessly all year round to help make their vision a reality. In the years since the charity started out in 1985, with the support of some remarkable people, they have achieved amazing things and raised over £950 million.

At Ecclesfield we are proud to support this charity and have already begun our
 Red noses have been on sale at break times and will continue to be until our stock diminishes. Each nose will cost £1 which will go towards Comic Relief. On Friday 13th March we are asking children to ‘make your face funny for money!’ and bring in a donation which will support Red Nose Day. These are just a few ideas for the children:

Face paint: Pay a donation to come in with their face painted.

Daft disguisePay a fee to wear a disguise for the day or go the whole hog in full dress up.

Hair-raising: Pay a donation and colour your hair red.

Bigwig in a wig: Wear a funny wig for the day.

Children are allowed to wear non-uniform for the day—the sillier the better!

If you would like further information on Red Nose Day or more ideas about how to ’make your face funny for money’ have a look at the Red Nose Day website:

We will also be holding other activities to help raise money. Each event will range in price from 20p-50p. These events include:

* Bun sale
* Penalty shoot out
* Name the teddy
* Ecclesfield’s got talent
* Guess the amount of sweets in a jar

These events will happen at lunch time and break time on Friday 13th March.

Sharp System

Sarah Short - Monday, February 09, 2015
Y5 & Y6 have been introduced to our Sharp Website which is a reporting system for anti-social behaviour and bullying.  When using the Sharp System, the children can make a report informing Miss Smith about any incidents of bullying or anti social behaviour, including cyber bullying. Incidents from both inside and outside of school can be reported and Miss Smith will decide on the appropriate action.  Please click here to look at this new reporting tool and discuss it with your child.

'This is a good school'

Please find below the link to our most recent OFSTED report following the inspection conducted on January 14/15th 2015.

We are all very proud of the pupils at Ecclesfield. The inspectors were impressed with their good learning behaviours, their politeness and use of good manners exhibited around school.

Many thanks to the staff at Ecclesfield Primary who have worked incredibly hard for the past two years so that our school becomes a good school. Their hard work and commitment has delivered the right outcome. Thanks also to the governors and parents who have supported the school in so many different ways during the past two years.
