Happy New Year

Tracy Lilley - Friday, January 11, 2019

The staff would like to wish all children, parents and carers a very happy new year.  The pupils have come into school ready to start the new year on a positive note and it is lovely to have them back.

Christmas Celebrations

Tracy Lilley - Friday, December 21, 2018

We have had a wonderful week filled with Christmas celebration! A huge well done to KS1 for their fantastic production of ‘We Three Kings’ at the beginning of the week. KS2 pupils and parents got into the festive mood with a carol service at St. Mary’s Church on Tuesday afternoon. All who have attended the pantomime this year have had an amazing time. Thank you to all who have contributed to these events!

Y3 Musical Performances

Tracy Lilley - Wednesday, December 19, 2018

Parents and carers really enjoyed watching the Y3 classes this week in their musical performances with an Egyptian twist. The children wore some fantastic costumes and sung a range of songs. Well done Y3!

Visit from Santa

Tracy Lilley - Wednesday, December 19, 2018

On Thursday, KS2 classes held a Christmas Fair which many parents and carers brought their children to. Santa and his elf visited school on his sleigh, thanks to Hallam FM who arranged his visit. The fair itself was a great success with many stalls  selling out completely! Thank you to  everyone who came along to support the event.

Visit to Totley Farm

Tracy Lilley - Wednesday, December 19, 2018

Both Y1 classes went to Totley Farm on Wednesday to perform a nativity play alongside lots of farmyard animals. The children dressed up in costumes and acted out the nativity story. They sang songs and were allowed to hold baby lambs!

Surprise Celebration Assembly

Tracy Lilley - Wednesday, December 05, 2018

Last Friday, we held a surprise celebration assembly for our TA’s and support staff.  We wanted to show our appreciation for their continued dedication and care for our pupils because, without them, we would not be able to provide the children with the experiences they love, such as swimming, themed discos and educational visits.  The TAs and support staff were delighted to receive their cards and certificates from the children.

Y2 Dodgeball Festival

Tracy Lilley - Wednesday, December 05, 2018

Last week children from Year 2 took part in a Dodgeball Festival at Ecclesfield School.  The children improved dramatically as the games went on and became skilled at throwing, dodging and catching the ball.  The boys’ team did particularly well getting through to the semi-final.

Y5S Assembly

Tracy Lilley - Wednesday, November 28, 2018

A huge well done to Y5S who performed brilliantly in their class assembly last week. It was great to hear about their learning so far this year and spoken with such confidence! The standard has been set for the rest of the classes!

Children In Need

Hannah Smith - Saturday, November 17, 2018

Thank you to all who supported our fundraising for Children In Need today! School was a fantastic place to be and the pupils and staff all thoroughly enjoyed the activities.

Thank you to the School Council for organising the events of the day!

We have raised an amazing £423.91 for the charity!

Swimming Gala

Hannah Smith - Friday, November 16, 2018

Congratulations to all that took part in the swimming gala last week. Medley, freestyle and individual races were swam by Y4, 5 and 6 children who all tried incredibly hard and did the school proud. Overall we came runners up in the event, receiving medals and a trophy. A special mention to Phoebe Cooper and Samuel Eades who won the 50m individual freestyle competitions for their age categories! Well done!
