Warm Weather Warnings

Hannah Smith - Friday, May 06, 2016

As the sun is shining,  we would just like to remind you to send your children to school with fresh water in a named water
bottle EVERY DAY
!  It is vital that we replace the fluids we lose when we breathe and sweat. Obviously, when it is warmer, we sweat more so need to replace more fluid.

Also, please can you ensure the children bring a sun hat (again, clearly labelled) to school as we love learning and playing
outdoors and want to protect our heads from the sun and heat. Please apply sun cream to pupils before school, if you would like to send sun cream for your child to reapply, please ensure it is labelled. Please note that staff are not able to apply sun cream to pupils.

MAST (Multi Agency Support Team)

Raising a family is the most important job anyone can do. It has amazing rewards but it
can also be very challenging. At some point you may need some extra help.

Your local Multi Agency Support Teams (MAST) are here to help you and your family.
Every year, MAST support 1000s of families by delivering around 60 parenting
programmes, whole family support and in their 16 Children's Centres.

MAST are going to be running a drop in session for parents at Ecclesfield.
The session is for parents to drop in and ask for advice or support with things such as  housing, benefits,
further education, behaviour support and many more professional services.

The drop in session will be on

Monday 25th April 9.00am—11.00am
Please come into school via the main entrance.

Outdoor Learning Week @ Ecclesfield

What a great first week back! The staff and pupils have had a great week using the outdoors to support their learning. Many of you may have noticed our new outdoor classroom on the field, this was kindly donated by Fletchers Bakery who have worked with the school to continue
creating an inspiring and innovative outdoor area for our pupils. We are very grateful for their donation! Our outdoor classroom was opened
today by the Deputy Lord Mayor, we were thrilled to invite her to our opening ceremony!

Triple P Teen Parenting Programme

Hannah Smith - Thursday, April 21, 2016

The Triple P (Positive Parenting Programme) knows that all
parents have different needs. That’s why Triple P offers a
number of specialist programmes tailored to suit parents with very specific needs or circumstances.  A parent who attended, highly recommended the course because
“it helps you more as a parent because you feel calm and
prepared to deal with behaviours before they happen.”

Teen Triple P has been developed for parents of teenagers. Because it’s based on Triple P’s proven parenting strategies, it gives a way to deal with the kinds of teenage behaviour problems and issues that can make family life stressful.

The next session is on Wednesday 11th May 2016, at Angram Bank
Children’s Centre High Green, 12.30pm—2.30pm

For more information please call 0114 2331189

As a school, we are collecting these vouchers to help us buy sports and cookery equipment for our pupils. You can hand in any vouchers to class teachers or the office, who will place them in our bright orange collecting box! The more we collect, the more we can buy!  Thank you for your continued support, it is much appreciated.

Y5 Basketball Competition
A huge congratulations to the 8 Year 5 children who took part in the Hotshots basketball competition on Tuesday. There were some thrilling games played which had
parents and children alike on the edge of their seats. We made it out of our group with two wins and a closely fought draw before unfortunately, losing to the eventual winners in the semi-final. Well done to all the children who greatly enjoyed the event.
