Botanical Gardens visit

On Wednesday, Year 1 went to visit the Botanical Gardens. They looked at plants from different continents and were amazed when they saw the biggest cactus they had ever seen! They found out lots of interesting facts and behaved impeccably. Well done Year 1.   

Y6 Holocaust Centre

Year 6 went to the Holocaust Centre this week. They learnt what it was like for a young boy who escaped from Germany on the kindertransport. The children behaved fantastically throughout the day and asked some extremely insightful questions. Well done Year 6.                                                 

Pirate Ron

On Monday, our children in Foundation Stage were joined by an amazing visitor in school who has motivated and inspired their learning about pirates. Our parents have told us how much their children enjoyed the visit and talked about their day at home. Thank you Pirate Ron!

World Book Day

We will be celebrating World Book Day on Friday 8th March. Children are invited to come into school dressed as their favourite book character or wearing yellow (Roald Dahl’s favourite colour) for a £1.00 donation.

We have an inset day on Friday 15th February, so school is closed to pupils. 

School re-opens after the half term break, on Monday 25th February.

Visit to Magna

This week Year 5 visited Magna to learn about volcanoes, magnets and rocks.  They spent time in air, earth, fire and water exhibits, learnt how tornados were formed and created    explosions with rocks!!!!  All the children had a fantastic day and came back to school with lots of facts about natural disasters.

Peer Mediators

Our fabulous Peer Mediators attended this year's annual conference where they met with children from other Sheffield schools to share their experiences of being a Peer Mediator.  Our Y5s and Y6s were thrilled to meet the Lord Mayor 'Magic Magid' and have their photograph taken with him.  They will continue their work in school; helping to make Sheffield a more peaceful place. 

Futsal Competition

We have had a fantastic start to the new year with our Y6 boys beating 8 other teams to get to the final of the Futsal competition at Forge Valley School last Thursday.  They then went on to win in the final – what a fantastic achievement boys!
