Foundation Stage's Diary

We are a team of very happy staff and children. The staff include: Miss Amy Sabin (Class Teacher); Miss Pilling (Class Teacher); Mrs Jo Hope (Teaching Assistant) Mrs Claire Blois (Teaching Assistant) and Mrs Janet Clarke (Teaching Assistant). We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum which promotes an exciting, first experience of school and helps to instill a love of learning in the children. We love to have fun and try to create a happy, relaxed and stimulating environment both inside and outside the classroom. We want to give the children a smiling start to their school career. Please have a look at our diary page to see us at work and play.

The interactive session will focus on identifying and naming a variety of rare and exotic insects, mammals, reptiles, molluscs and amphibians from around the world. Most of the animals can be handled and touched by the children giving them access to many different textures of skin and fur.

Welcome to Foundation!

Ecclesfield Teachers - Thursday, August 30, 2018
Hello to all of our new children and families,

We look forward to starting our Foundation year together soon and cannot wait to get to know you all over the academic year. Our first topic will be 'Walking through the Jungle'. As well as learning about life in the jungle and about jungle animals and their young, we will also be sharing your wonderful summer projects (your memory boxes). This is a lovely way to get to know each other and for the children to identify similarities amongst themselves. In addition, we will start our first floor book together where the children's questions drive our topics.

Please ask if you are unsure about anything and remember our door is always open! This transitional period is very exciting but also huge for families and we recognise all routines are new and can be a little daunting, but you're not alone!

Don't forget to check the classroom whiteboard daily for parental notices and diary dates for parental workshops, parents evenings and family activities.

Have a wonderful last week of the summer holidays and we look forward to welcoming you into your new classroom on Tuesday 4th September.

A reminder of the first week of school:

Tuesday 4th Sept-8.40am-12pm
Wednesday 5th Sept-8.40am-1.15pm
Thursday 6th Sept- 8.40am-1.15pm
Friday 7th Sept- 8.40am-3pm (full time)

See you soon!
