A warm welcome to Year 2. Our team this year includes Miss Latham, Mr Kirman, Mrs Cowlishaw and Mrs Parkin. We have lots of fun whilst learning in Year 2! Keep checking our blog for more updates.

Learning Activities

Hannah Smith - Thursday, March 01, 2018
As school is closed today, it would be great for children to complete the following activities to support their learning.

This week in maths we are learning about multiplication and division, For our maths learning today, please use the mathletics learning platform and go on the multiplication and division activities. If you do not have your mathletics password with you, there are plenty of websites which can help you learn your maths times tables, remember we are looking at 2,5,10 and 3 times tables. The children should know the division facts as well so if 4 x 5 = 20 then 20 divided by 4 equals 5.
Why not see how quickly you can answer 10 multiplication questions? Can you do it in less than a minute, less than 30 seconds?

To support world book day, we would like you to read one of your favourite books and create a review of it. Tell us what you like, why you like it, what the story is about. You may also want to re comment it to a friend.

In writing this week we have been learning about setting descriptions. Have a go at writing a description of what you can see from your window. Remember to use expanded noun phrases (glittering, bright snow, glistening ice) and your interesting sentence starters (on top of, before my eyes, underneath, if you look closely). Practice reading it out loud using intonation and expression.

Have a great day Year 2!

Mrs Travers and Miss Latham
