Year 3's Diary

A warm welcome to Year 3. Our team this year includes Miss Latham, Mr Nettleship and Mrs Neville. We are all looking forward to a fantastic year.

Learning Activities

Ecclesfield Teachers - Thursday, March 01, 2018
As school is closed today, it would be great for children to complete the following activities to support their learning.

This week in maths we are learning about 3D shape, For our maths learning today, please use the mathletics learning platform or RM easimaths and go on the 3D shape activities. If you do not have your mathletics or RM easimaths password with you, there are plenty of websites which can help you learn all about 3D shapes. In addition to this, can you see if you can find any 3D shapes in the world? E.G. A snowball = Sphere!

To support world book day, we would like you to read one of your favourite books and create a review of it. Tell us what you like, why you like it, what the story is about. You may also want to read it to a friend.

In writing this week we have been learning about persuasion. Have a go at writing a persuasive piece of text persuading someone why snow is better than sun!  Remember to use expanded noun phrases (glittering, bright snow, glistening ice) and your interesting sentence starters (Did you know?, Are you aware? Furthermore, In addition). Practice reading it out loud using intonation and expression.

Have a great day Year 3!

Mr Wells and Mr Nettleship
