Year 6's Diary

For those of you that don’t know the team in Y6, we have the class teachers Mrs Hill, Miss Naylor and Miss Smith plus our teaching assistant Mrs Shepherd. As we enter the new year we are building up to the SATS in May whilst continuing to explore themes from around the world in our varied topic lessons.

World War Two

Ecclesfield Teachers - Wednesday, February 21, 2018

As we near March our new topic will be World War One. Following on from The Great War we studied last year, we will ask how another atrocity of this scale was allowed to happen. We will look at life in Britain and across the world during the period 1939-45 and compare this to our modern day reality.

In science light will be investigated by year six. How do we see things, how does light travel and how do mirrors work will be some of the questions we will aim to answer.

Throughout the half-term we will continue to use Holes as a class book, finishing off the chapters and finding out what fate waits for both Stanley and Zero . . .

As we draw closer to May please make sure you are taking every advantage to use the online platforms and resources: RMeasimaths, Spag.com and Mathletics. Also ask in school if you need any help or are unsure about any topics. Boosters will continue on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the first four weeks when we return.

Many Thanks

They Year Six team
