Autumn 2 in F2

Tuesday 07 Nov 2023 07:26am

Well done to our wonderful FS children for a great start to school life. We can’t wait for another busy, exciting term with them in class!

Our topic this term is ‘I wonder…what sparkles in the sky’. We will be thinking about different celebrations, talking about our own experiences, and spending lots of time continuing to build on our relationships with each other.

We will continue with our daily phonics (following ELS) revisiting our phase 2 sounds and moving onto phase 3. We will be doing lots of oral blending and will also be segmenting and blending to read words. We will also be using these skills to practice writing too. We will also learn more harder to read and spell words; keep practicing those in your word bag!

In maths we will be exploring, securing and deepening our understanding of numbers to 5, looking at representing and comparing amounts as well as the compositions of each number. We will continue to use language to compare, count and reason with number, talking about maths and what we notice.

Please continue to keep uploading your home learning and activities onto Tapestry as we love to share these in class and celebrate your child’s achievements.

Reminders:

  • PE days are Tuesdays and Fridays. On these days, your child will need to wear their PE kits.
  • Your child needs to bring their book bag to school everyday, along with their water bottle. Please keep reading books and harder to read and spell words in book bags so that these can be shared with your child during reading times. Reading books will be changed every Friday. Please remember to fill in your child’s reading diary every time they read.

Thank you for your support.
