Wow! The children continue to amaze us and have thoroughly enjoyed our theme last half term and impressed us with their language, story telling and predicting!
Our topic this term is ‘I wonder…what’s in the box’. We will be thinking about different toys, looking at toys of the present and toys of the past considering what is similar and different. We will continue with our daily phonics (following ELS). We will be doing lots of segmenting and blending to read words and using these skills to practice our writing too, writing words and sentences. We will also learn more harder
to read and spell words, which we will send home for you to practise too!
In maths we will be exploring, securing and deepening our understanding of numbers to 10, looking at representing and comparing amounts as well as the compositions of each number. We will continue to use language to compare, count and reason with number, talking about maths and what we notice.
We will continue to use Tapestry, please continue to share your child’s home learning and activities that they enjoy with you at home!
Lions PE days are Wednesday and Thursday. Tigers PE days are Wednesday and Friday. On these days, your child will need to wear their PE kits.
Your child needs to bring their book bag to school every day. Reading books will be changed every Friday. Please remember to fill in your child’s reading diary every time they read.
Thank you for your support.
Miss Garnett and Miss Pilling
