Year 4

Welcome to Year 4. The class teachers in this year group are Miss Latham and Miss Robinson. We follow the National Curriculum and ensure to instil a love of learning for all our pupils. It is important to us that we encourage a happy, respectful and engaging environment for all pupils to reach their full potential!

In Year 4 we love maths! We prepare children for their Multiplication Timetable Check by learning songs and counting in number groups each day. Look out for challenges on Timestables Rockstars. Can you contribute to winning our inter-class competitions?

Reading is very important to us in Y4, we have a range of class texts we will explore daily. As well as reading for pleasure time, we love cosying up for a child-voted class story time. To help us encourage a love of reading for our children, we encourage adults to read with their children 5 times weekly and record this in their reading diaries. We will exchange reading books as and when needed after they are returned to school.

Home learning will be handed out to children on Friday and will need to be completed and returned on Wednesday!  

One of the most exciting parts of Year 4 are our weekly swimming lessons - these happen every Wednesday afternoon. We will also be doing a second PE session each week.
